Financial Aid Applications for 2018-2019 Academic Year Available October 1

Both the CSS Profile and the FAFSA for 2018-19 become available October 1, 2017 to reapply for financial aid for next year. Students are encouraged to apply early. As a reminder, always monitor your CaneLink closely for to do items which may need to be submitted. Students will receive notification from the College Board about the IDOC process and how to submit your required tax documents once the CSS Financial Aid PROFILE application has been submitted. 

Important Information About Your 2017 W-2 Tax Form

Student employees can choose to elect electronic W-2 tax forms as part of an effort to help the University reduce costs, safeguard your sensitive information, and support our commitment to sustainability. Electronic forms are also available sooner than printed forms  and are available 24 hours /7 days a week, whenever you need to access them.  In addition, electing to receive your W-2 tax forms online reduces the risk of mailing errors or lost or stolen forms.

Log in to Workday at and follow the steps below by December 31, 2017 to enter:

  1. Click the Pay worklet and select My Tax Documents.
  2. Under Printing Election, click Edit, then click OK.
  3. After reviewing the current information for New Election, select Receive Electronic Copy of My Year End Tax Documents, and then click OK.
  4. Review the new printing/delivery election, then click Done. Your election will remain valid for all future tax years.

Unless you elect otherwise, your W-2 will be sent via U.S. mail to the mailing address on file. In order to prevent your personal information from being sent to an incorrect address, you must update your mailing address in Workday prior to December 31, 2017.  Please view the Workday tip sheet on how to change your contact information, including mailing address, in Workday.

Direct Loan Interest Rates are Changing

Effective July 1, 2017 the interest rates on Direct Federal Loans will be:
Undergraduate Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans 4.45%.
Graduate Unsubsidized Loans 6.0%.
Graduate and Parent PLUS Loans 7.0%.
